What kind of Scottish sporran should I buy for my friend?
My friend got a kilt as a gift, but can’t wear it, because he got it without a sporran, and let’s face it, a kilt on its own looks basically like a plaid skirt. So I want to get him one.
I can’t remember the exact coloring of the tartan, but I know it was red with some black in it, and perhaps even a bit of green (can’t be sure). What kind of sporran would go with that? I figured a regular day sporran with some Celtic accents, but what about color? Brown or black or… Does the number of tassels signify anything? What’s the price range for a decent day sporran? I’d also appreciate any other advice you might be able to give me.

Tell him not to be a pu$$y and go ahead and wear it! Real guys have no problem with a skirt or kilt. Note: A Kilt IS a Skirt by definition. Look it up. Just a particular style of skirt that is usually tartan, hot, heavy and costly.
Guys who are “sexually secure” without homophobia will have no problem rocking a skirt. See these guys in skirts and note they are not cross dressing trying to look like women. It is obvious they are guys just as women in pants still look like women:

Also note that www.utilikilts.com sells several million dollars worth of “kilts” each year. So there are plenty of guys wearing them without the sporran.
Once a guy wears a skirt he will be hooked on it. Especially a Cargo mini skirt in place of shorts on a hot day. Nothing as comfortable but it is something guys guys don’t know but no additional crotch seams and tubes of cloth over the legs is a sensation not forgotten. Skirts will be vogue soon for guys.
Note: Most (not all) women find a guy in a skirt “intriguing” so be prepared for some competition! And watch out for skirt lifters! A hazard for the guys as women think they have the right to see what’s under it. Just wear some tight briefs, lycra panties or whatever to avoid an inadvertent flash cuz he will have the exact same issues women have if it is a short kilt.
